Hi,
since my last subminiature build someone talked about some spud amplifiers. After some reading I tought I could build one in a 1590 box.
I wanted to use the Max1771 SMPS (from desmith), so I looked for tubes with lower plate current, and the ECL84 with 18mA was low enough. This amplifier goes from clean to overdrive, and sounds nice.
It lacks bass, but I think I could improve it with an adequate OT (here I'm using a 220/6V transformer).
The box was etched on both sides, and I wanted something old, I guess it looks nice.
The pictures and schematic are here:

Hi guys, time for a video!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GnCRv-u-dQ4
there is something vibrating on the cab... and the bass is a little too loose to me... not a tight metal amp.
With the celestion greenback this thing is loud.
The audio came directly from the nikon camera.
Cheers, Thomas
