Need help finding aluminum trim

Post by ValvElectric »

Although I know this topic has been discussed, I think I might be the only person who doesn't seem to have a Lowe's nearby and the Home Depot near me doesn't seem to stock the same aluminum trim.
Does anyone know where I might be able to find a similar solution?

I get it at tractor supply company they have it in a few sizes. A little buff, clean, and some silicone spray when counter sinking/drilling holes and you're good to go.

If it's on the Lowe's website, I'm pretty sure you can order there and have it delivered to you.

I checked Lowes website but I might have just missed it so I'll give it another look, and I'm pretty sure there's a farm supply store nearby so maybe I'll check there.
I only need about 19.5".

I don't like the Home Depot or Lowes stock. It's bare metal and you have to polish it. And it still doesn't look great. I use anodized sateen aluminum made by CRL. I didn't think it was "correct" at first but it's definitely the way to go. They sell it atmy local Ace hardwares. I get it from DK Hardware in FL. But I buy like 120 feet at a time. If you need some let me know I can ship you a piece. I cut it on my table saw

I feel pretty comfortable trusting your judgement, as I think your work speaks for itself. (Seeing as I actually learned many of the tips and tricks that I used to cover this cabinet from your contributions here.)
But from my admittedly less knowledgeable perspective, the trim used on your amps seems pretty spot on.

Also, having done similar work in the past, I too would like to avoid spending hours polishing bare metal if at all possible. :D

If you do end up polishing aluminum, clear coat it afterwards to preserve the shine.
