A history of op-amps including early tube circuits

Post by strelok »

Found this the other day, a nice history of op-amps from Analog Devices, including some of the very early predecessors using tubes. Also covers a bit about Differential amplifiers and Phase Inverters as the subject comes up naturally in this sort of discussion.

Mine too. I only read the chapter on all-tube op amps so far but the number of *GEBs working on this stuff as part of the war effort is remarkable.

Definitely. Glad you enjoyed it. I saw GEB and my first thought was Douglas Hofstadter haha. Someday I'd love to build myself an analog computer for solving ODE's but that's some serious time investment. Would be a fun toy to play with though haha.
