super reverb conversion
am still kicking the idea around about building a dumble. was looking at the super reverb conversion, and as luck would have it i have a super reverb. question is, as i already have the schematic, are there any good resources for chassis layout or some pics or something. i cant really ever seem to find what i am looking for on here. any help is greatly appreciated. thanks-dave.

Re: super reverb conversion
Sure looks like it was a twin reverb to me. My normal channel only has volume bass treble. I can see where it says super. I dont know mines a 68 maybe they changed them later on. Mine is only moderatly molested maybe i should just leave it alone and scratch/kit build. I know i know make up my damn mind.
Re: super reverb conversion
It's a different silver face master volume Super Reverb. Someone on Ampwares noted the 3 band EQ was added in 1978 SR for normal channel.
My silver face Super Reverb has 3 knobs in first channel and 7 in second channel no master volume.

Re: super reverb conversion
I did recently a Japanese Pro Reverb clone conversion that turned very nice (to my and the friend I did it for ears at least)

68 super reverb is a great amp, I'd put it back to original specs and 1; keep it or 2; sell it.
You can always build a new amp, you cant build a 'new' 68 super reverb.
I have a '70 bandmaster reverb which is the same amp with a slightly smaller OT.

Re: super reverb conversion
Very good point, Marcus.
Albeit, there are certain series and particular amps that are not that great, to my ears.
I went through a number of silverface amps, Bassman, Princeton, etc. that got nothing to rave about.
Certainly good, but not great.
One would devalue a vintage amp (unless he's Dumble
) by modding it, but has the chance to make it a great sounding one.

Re: super reverb conversion
yeah my super is in decent shape, not modded but has had a lot of stuff changed. it needs some love, the tremolo doesnt work and when the reverb is turned up it pops occasionally for some reason. coupling cap or a bad resistor perhaps, i need to open it to see. i do kinda love it the way it is minus those couple issues. it just got pulled out of storage the other day just to pair it with a tele i just got from the same year. i think i will just fix whats wrong with it and build a dumble circuit later from scratch.
