Connecting Divorce mounted Pre and Power Amps
Using modern materials what connectors would one use to connect a divorce mounted amp? I've seen lots of older amps that I would love to clone/take inspiration from that utilized divorce mounted chassis. What is the safest way to move B+ and heaters from one chassis to another while still allowing them to be dis connectable?

I've never been divorced...so you'll have to explain.
I build and repair tube amps. http://amps.monkeymatic.com

Me neither - could be state-of-mind thing?

Lol so helpful
Re: Connecting Divorce mounted Pre and Power Amps
I assume he's talking about separate preamp and power amp chassis.
As for the original question...sorry, not something I've tried. Seems like a logistical nightmare. I have seem the hi-fi world use DIN connectors to connect outboard power supplies to preamps, but many of those use DC filaments.

ding ding ding

Re: Connecting Divorce mounted Pre and Power Amps
pre-amp and power amp rack-mountable consoles is another way to do this. Then you only need to worry about the signal cable and speaker plugs (which you can achieve with normal phono jack/socket(s))

What I've seen in Sano amps for instance, octal plug/socket for AC power, DC, & filament, plus an extra RCA or 1/4 inch lead for signal.
DIN connectors would probably melt contacts especially if you tried running filament current thru them. And some wag will eventually plug a MIDI cable in, woops!

down technical blind alleys . . .

On old amps I've often seen Octal (sometime also noval) plug + octal sochets used for this purpose (B+ and Signal - signal cable, of course, shielded)
However, if voltage is not very high, you can use XLR connectors, like in this Standel 25L15 inspired amp
