The wife's building a champ...
Thought I'd share here, my wife was curious about amp building, after watching me do it, and said she may want to learn/help. I decided having her build a champ would be an interesting process, and may help people on the fence about building amps to give it a try. I already posted video one and two :

I'll ask her to. She's still very new and I think intimidated about how much she still doesn't understand. I ramble on all the time about cathode followers, dc coupled stages etc, and she glasses over She's smart as hell, though, and if she really enjoys it, I'm sure she'll get into it really deeply pretty soon.

Right on! BTW where's Janna? She did beautiful builds, I think in Minnesota. Went missing about the same time TAG's troubles with Google started. Somebody oughta let her know, TAG's back in business, going on all 8 cylinders. And thanks for that, pompeii!

Re: The wife's building a champ...
... a wife that is into building amps with you. You LUCKY bastard!
My exwife acted like building amps was the other woman in my life. She used to say "Sometimes, I think you'd rather be with your amp than me". I would remind her that firstly, my amp works. Secondly, when my amp starts screeching with a loud, high pitch noise, I can get it to stop. Then she would say "well, it's a good thing your amp can take a quarter inch input". Then I would say "Hey!, that's not nice".

My wife helps with amp builds from time to time, but I use her more to just inspect my work. She is IPC-610 Class 3 certified, and is great at finding problem solder joints and touching them up. I just wish I could get her to quit using liquid flux... what a mess...

In video 4, Angie populates the main board and solders it together.

Yeah mines the 117 but I think they're really close in features etc. I do love it as well.
