I bought 3 matched quads of these probably 25 years ago.
They are Russian coin based 6l6/5881 tubes.
I started to insert them into an ODS 102 build using Belton sockets.
The tubes fit very loosely in the sockets.
They wobble a lot and I wouldn't trust them to keep contact.
I tried some 6l6 pulls from another amp and they fit fine in the belton sockets.
The Ruby tubes fit fine in a ceramic chinese socket that I have.
Was this a common problem with the Russian 5881 from this era?

Cheap China undersized pins!
When I die, I want to go like my Grandfather did, peacefully in his sleep.
Not screaming like the passengers in his car!
Cutting out a man's tongue does not mean he’s a liar, but it does show that you fear the truth he might speak about you!

Yes, I remember having this problem when they first came out. I had to seriously retension the sockets to get them to work in my old MkII.

I think maybe the 2nd link below is what you need. Plug the tube into the extra base and solder it in place. The first link is a replacement base -- not for the faint of heart.
