Hi All,
I used to own a Tranwreck, I was just curious as to who has it now.
Ken sold it for me in 1994-1995 or so. It's name was Amanda Lynn I believe. It had a wood burning of a Lighthouse if I remember correctly.
It was/is a great amp, I hope it is in good hands.
Thanks.

Welcome to the group. Don't have any info on your amp, but there is a picture of your amp in the Files section, under Pictures of Trainwrecks. Click on the "Various Pictures of Trainwrecks from the old Trainwreck website". There is a file called amanda.jpg in the .zip file that fits your description.
You are lucky to be a part of a such a small group of real Trainwreck owners. Can you give us your impressions of the amp? Did Ken personally tweak the amp for you and your guitar? How long did you own it for? Why did you get rid of it?
Again, thanks for the joining and we look forward to your input.

Let's see...this guy's from NJ, met KF (a couple of times), had an Express, and once had killer chops(may still!). Seems like a guy that might be helpful at the ampfest. Maybe the members of this forum can goad this guy into coming by. Oh! I'm sorry. He's a singer now. Maybe he can bring his Peavey and Taylor. AHHHGGG!!!!!

Peavey's and Taylor's are welcome at Ampfest. I know Jon Taylor will be there

I don't think the Peavey's will get much attention but they are welcome nonetheless. I have heard good things about the VC's though.
usedtohaveatrainwreck- I am hosting an ampfest type gathering on Jan 28th in Kenilworth, NJ. Details Here http://www.maximoaudio.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=353
You are welcome to bring your Taylor and your Peavey

We would certainly like to hear more about your Wreck. Do you have any recordings of it? How about pics?[/code]

Hi All,
To answer your questions, I had the Trainwreck(an express I believe) for about 4 years, I do have it on a few recorded songs, I just have to find them.
The amp was just fantastic, I used it with my band Fallon(featuring former Skid Row frontman Matt Fallon). I kept it on about 6 or 7 for the volume, it was plenty loud, glistened would be a good word for it's presence. I loved it!
I used to spend a fair amount of time in Ken's basement talking shop, he is such a nice guy and a HUGE wealth of knowledge. I was on the waiting list, one day I called him and asked him how far away I was. He said "about a year", so I sighed. He said, but, I just finished one for a guy in Philly I believe, and he hasn't picked it up or returned my calls. He asked if I wanted it, I said, Hell Yeah! So I cashed out a CD early, took the penalty, and bought the amp and a white Calzone flight case.
I loved the amp, but wasn't using it for quite a while, and like most starving musicians, needed the $. I called Ken to make sure he was cool with it, he said no problem and told me how much I could get for it. I won't disclose the exact amount, but I made a nice little profit, bought my first computer and became an IT tech, good investment overall. I thought he said someone in Cali or Hawai'i bought it.
I miss the amp, and hope it is getting some use. Ken if you read this, I hope you are doing well. It just flat out SANG!
Be well, Aaron

Re: usedtohaveatrainwreck
Thought I'd resurrect this thread to post the answer to the OP question. Amanda Lynn is currently for sale at Carter's Vintage Guitars in Nashville. She was apparently previously owned by a lawyer/guitarist named Charles Daughtry, and apparently used by Warren Haynes on a solo album.
Let that boy boogie woogie.
Re: usedtohaveatrainwreck
I think Mr Daughtry was the owner of like 7 trainwrecks but probably not anymore. I think one of his amps went to Urban, and also he let Bonnamassa and Haynes borrow other two.
If I remember correctly there was a picture with 7 amps in like a pyramid with a few vox cabinets and those were all his amps.
This one sounds very good!!! at least in the demos.

Re: usedtohaveatrainwreck
Your amp is one of the more famous ones. Warren Haynes has used that amp a lot. It was recently up for sale for about $35k I think. I am not sure if it sold or not.

I'll be at Walter's place with some Les Paul yum yums next Sunday if anyone local wants to meet up before I vacate Nashvegas for most points South.
