I'm clearing space in my work area and found an output transformer that I ruined not grounding one of the speaker jacks (caused the primary to burn through the insulation and short to the bell). It's a Heyboer Partridge replica for a Hiwatt DR504, so it wasn't cheap when I got it. I held onto it to try to learn more about how OTs are put together and in so doing I tore some of the paper insulation away to get a look at the primary winding. In short, I doubt it's useful to anyone other than someone who can rewind transformers.
But it seems like a big chunk of M6 steel would be useful to someone?
Anyone had an issue like this before? What did you end up doing with the bad transformer? I'm really not wanting to throw it away since it seems like a big waste, especially if there's someone who can use it for something.

Definitely considering it. I know Heyboer made it, so I suppose I could try seeing if they'll repair it. I'm gathering based on a quick search that transformer repair is unique and highly specialized skillset on its own. Based on pdf64's response, seems @wpaulvogel might have some experience with it?
