I haven't been able to reach it last night or this morning. The "isitdownnow" sites say it's up; I've changed DNS settings and flushed my DNS cache.

Baffled. Anyone else have the problem?

It hasn't worked for at least a couple of days. Pinging music-electronics-forum.com works but going to the IP address directly just shows Ngnix web server default page.

I've had no access for the better part of a week, even though the "isitdownnow" sites have always said that it's up for them.
I just checked again and I'm still getting browser messages that the site refuses to connect, yet the "isitdownnow" sites continue to say that it is up.

When I ping the site using it's name, the server does respond to pings with low latency. In other words, not a DNS problem and the server is online -- it's just refusing connection requests.

Fwiw, the delivery of "err_connection_refused" rather than an HTTP status code indicates that the problem is occurring at the network connection level, and not in response to the processing of an HTTP request. Technically, the server is up and running but is refusing connection requests so the site is offline.

I recall there being a discussion about handing off site management duties to one of the longstanding members but I can't offer any details about that.

These kinds of problems illustrate the kind of risk that's associated with any entity that depends upon a key man for ongoing operations. I hope tboy is OK.
