"too many requests errors" on this site

I've been getting errors on this site last day or so, "...too many requests..." and sometimes slow response.

Just thought I'd pop up a note in case someone wants to hit the big red button on the server or something.

I've been getting them for a couple of days. I hope someone has a backup of the forum database and files for when this site goes down too.

Same here. Forum is also slow, and I got logged off a number of times.

I'm pretty new here, so apologies if overstepping - do we know if there are sturdy archival measures in place with this forum db?

There are a unusual amount of "guests" on this forum:
Around 1800 right now and yesterday there were over 2500 "guests".

I haven't been able to access amp garage all day. I think there was some sort of bot invasion going on and not just on this forum. I noticed several forums had most ever users online today.

had the same thing happen yesterday, but today it's fine for me.

The Gear Page, My Les Paul forum, TDPRI - none will load for me. I sent a message to an admin of TGP and they told me there were issues with Windows 7 and Firefox (which are what I use). hopefully this will pass......

You still having issues loading tgp tdpri etc? They seem to be working normally if I go to them but I'm not on the same OS as you

Admin of this forum should check from what IP addresses the guests are coming from. Most likely it's net range of 47.74.0.0 - 47.87.255.255 that's registered to Alibaba Cloud LLC. Easiest solution is to just block the whole IP range on the servers firewall.

Site was OK for a day or two, but now the too many request errors are back. If I hit the refresh button I can get through about half the time.
