Last week my Fender PT died, I ordered a new one which came in today and they sent me a 120V (I'm in Europe!!!).
Anyway, to make a long story short.. .I need a PT fast. I can get a PT with the following specs:
Pri1: 0-120-230 V
Sec1: 350-0-50-350 V @ 140 mA
Sec2: 6,3 V @ 4 A
Sec3: 5 V @ 3 A
Would this PT do for a 2x6L6 D'Lite with switching relais?
Thanks,
Coen

It will work - the 350-0-350 means your B+ will be high so make sure all B+ nodes on the string prior to the one that follows the 15K (or 22K depending on which string you used) have filter caps capable of 500 volts or more (if you are doing totem pole caps the sum of both needs to be 500 volts or more). The 140ma is a little wimpy (180 would be better) but it still should get pretty loud. The 6.3v tap is just enough to run 2 6L6 and 4 12xx7 tubes. If you have only 3 preamp tubes it's even better. The 5V taps can be bridge rectified for over 7 volts DC (perfect for 5 volt relays).

Thanks Heisthl!
"Totempole caps" means those two 100uF in parallel, right? They're 350V each and my 20uF's are 500V.
The 140mA worried me the most, although this PT is advertised as being a 022798 replacement.
The other option I have is to use the 120V/60Hz PT with a 220V to 110V step down transformer, but I heard there are heat issues if you step down from 220V/50Hz to 110V/60Hz.

Yup - It's another one of those old timer expressions. But they're in series not parallel, I'm sure you just said it wrong or the inside of your amp would be covered with a fine mist of oil and stink pretty badly.tsl602000 wrote:Thanks Heisthl!

Ugh....
I said it wrong. I guess I had too much fire water...
