Clone Orange Retro 50
I got this chassis and cab a while ago and finally finished it up.
A totally different type of amp but reminds me of the low end I get with my JCM800 2204 and I like the preamp bypass for added killer gain. I will record some of my amps after I retire in January and get setup to record so don't ask

Beauty!
Re: Clone Orange Retro 50
looks like a nice simple build. what are the transformer specs on these? are they 290-0-290 on the PT? thinking about something like this to use up my express PT. i think i've read the OT is something like 4k and much bigger iron so the express OT probably wouldn't work.
Re: Clone Orange Retro 50
PT 290-0-290
OT 4k 60W
Choke 10H 150mA
Has a switch for 30w class A cathode bias 150R/25W with 220uf/100v bypass cap. Other side of switch is 50w class AB 47k bias pot for -32v

Nice. What side of the switch do to prefer?
are all of the POTs dual pots with the terminals connected together? what purpose does that serve?

Re: Clone Orange Retro 50
The Class A gets some great early breakup.
Yes all the pots are dual pots and wired together, not sure why I just followed what Orange does.

Mark that was a cool build! Was this just resurrected from the dead?

I built this amp a while ago but the thread was recently discovered and questions asked so I decided to just post the schematic and layout.

I wish the covering was like it looks in the thumbnails, that cheapo looking Gibson stuff like wall paper on an RVT.
I guess tolex is ok too.
