Google Chrome Sez Ampgarage is a "Suspect site"
Just tried accessing Ampg thru Google Chrome. Would not allow me to proceed to open the site.
So I went back to regular Old Google--no problem.
What is going on here?? Lately I find some uploads within a thread don't show up for me so I tried Chrome. Anyone else having problems like this? I use Windows XP, yes I know it's obsolete but it doesn't crash either.

I just PM'ed Tom and and sent screen shots. I think someone has to go through a "process" to unlist the siite.

Now I can't get in on Old Google either. I now have to enter ampgarage.com and delete the s in https then I get in normally. What a PITA.
Still don't know why I don't see most downloaded attachments in threads now..any ideas? browser obsolete maybe?

In Chrome - I get the big red warning for Malware.
In Internet Explorer - it's fine.
Internet Explorer hasn't shown itself to be your safest option - especially if you're still running Windows XP.
Do you have good/valid backups of your data?

Me too. Big red screen.
If you click on the details, will get a message saying even sites that used to be safe can become unsafe (or something like that). It then gives you an option of assuming the risk and proceeding to site.

I have a Western Digital external backup disk.
The message I got on Google Chrome said it was something else, not malware. I have Malware Bytes that seems to take care of that stuff very well.

It seems there has been a rash of attacks on a lot of sites. Mostly javascript injections for a pop up ad. The forum software is being prepped for an upgrade that will take place shortly. There are hundreds of thousands of files linked to the database that need to be carefully backed up and reindexed before we can upgrade. This will take a week or two so we will have to put up with this crap for a short time.

It means I can't access TAG at work anymore! Thank goodness not all my favourite daily forums are being tagged, but I hope it can be fixed.

Google Chrome is malware, by the way.
If you are running Chrome, you might want to do a search and turn off the mic and camera. Maybe disable it all by forced physical removal of mic and camera to be sure.
Not paranoid. It's real.

I picked up something called: backdoor:Win32/Tofsee.F
Not sure where it came from. I'm using XP and IE8

Yesterday, I decided to try out our new next gen firewall on TAG during the issue. It blocked and identified the connection as "Rig Exploit Kit"LOUDthud wrote:I picked up something called: backdoor:Win32/Tofsee.F

I haven't heard of it before, but I found this informative site.
https://www.trustwave.com/Resources/Spi ... structure/
The connection was ultimately landing on a host named factor.1234567890.club (46.30.45.10) in Russia after going through their proxy.
My guess is they're attempting to deploy ransomware.

So just tell me, tell us, should we take a vacation from TAG while the admins fix it? Or is it not really broken?brentm wrote:My guess is they're attempting to deploy ransomware.
