What tank do you all like for the SSS or JM type 3 tube reverb circuit ?

Thanks, I'm also looking at those, but I'm wondering if I should just just the 4AB3C1B replacement or what. Which one did you use?
Re: reverb tank + sss filters + build
I used Fender Twin Reverb 4AB3C1B MOD tank along with replacement Twin Reverb transformer set.

Thanks Mark. That's what I was thinking, then I came across this vid of the Amplified Nation SSS : https://youtu.be/gI_lXY6j6tI
Taylor, that's a fine sounding amp. Can you comment on the short tank?

This is the specs its the 17" long unit: http://www.amazon.com/MOD-Reverb-Tanks- ... B003AZ3E5U
Standard BF Fender Twin Reverb unit 17" long with long decay for that swampy reverb 8ohm out and 2250 input.

I used 4AB3C1B from TAD.
I had nasty surprises with Accutronics tank recently

Re: reverb tank + sss filters + build
Concerning the filters for an SSS, if was going to use 6pos rotaries, can I assume that the 150p and 39K components would be the most expendable?

Re: reverb tank + sss filters + build
Well, I omitted the 150p as I have a 6 step rotary

Re: reverb tank + sss filters + build
I did the low filter, and realized that I was 1 lug position off on the whole thing for the high filter So I'll need to do that one again.
Here's the low filter. I omitted the 39K.
I think I'm building something between a JM an a #002. I schematicized mhartman's layout(nice work!!) and it's very similar to what I drew out, so I'll lean on that layout for sure. I've got about 12 pieces of paper in front of me, so that should get me something good !

Got a Watts 20 x 8 chassis drilled out mostly with a water-jet cutter, and got some parts onbaord

Here's some more pics of the SSS variant. My friend wanted some sort of "half power" switch, so I decided on pentode/triode instead of the other way that cuts the cathode for 2 tubes.

Re: reverb tank + sss filters + build
Here's my board. I used a variety of layouts for the design, as well as some of my own things I always do, like put everything on 1 board Well the rect/bias board will go on the side wall.
The circuit topology is closest to mhartman's layout, in that its basically the 3 JM type stages(as opposed to the CF in #002), with the filters from #002, and the driver after the PI. 3 tube reverb.
I've got 2 switches for the LNFB for the first 2 stages.
I've also got a 3 way bright, deep, mid boost, and PAB.
I've got some inductors around here somewhere, but if they're not close in value, I'll just use a piece of wire .

Re: reverb tank + sss filters + build
Finished this one up. Just waiting on plates and cab. What a unique amp. Everything is so articulate, defined, punchy, loud, clean. Super fun to play. I found the hi filters only really had a couple of usable positions with a strat, and the low filters were more subtle than I expected.
Reverb sounds killer and the send and return controls are fun.
The mid boost and PAB I added are very usuable. Mid is 2n series 420, and PAB is the 22M one with the classic stack.
I used twin iron and wound up on the low side , I guess, with 425V plates at 42mA.
Owner is loving it with a TS808 in front, too
Props to mhartman for the layout .
