Any plans with the fourth preamp tube? BTW, where did you buy the chassis?

Thank you Tony for the layout it was priceless and talking me into the 100 watt.
And thanks to Deric for the chassis. I had made a set of circuit boards before the chassis
Nothing fit used vintage Sprague 6ps on the first pre amp board. I used what was on hand
Yes WIMA ,6ps,Mallory pvc’s. Will see how it turns out. Need to install grounding star washers on the standby and power switches. And the suede is a dirt magnet need to make a new
Cabinet this week tolex should be a breeze after the suede.

Best regards, Steve.

Ah, so you are going to rip the suede off?

I can see where that would be hard to keep clean.
The old Dumble amps with the suede look pretty beat.

So you have not powered this amp up?

Looking forward to your tone report to see if it still has the D vibe with the different parts. :D

Tom, I used WIMA caps in my last build with spectacular results looks like HAD used them.
I need to take a day off and rest before I power the amp up.

Steve. :D

Man, I remember that picture.

The cow pie goop!

I wonder if HAD ever had to work on an amp that he gooped?

Boy I'm slow new head box ready for tolex.
Debugging the amp my voltages are fine but ground noise replaced the grounds with 16awg silver wire this raised the plate voltages 50vdc? I can drop the B+ voltage or raise the plate resistors.
Also low power output? Other than that my old telecaster sounds killer Great clean tone.
When the fan hits the fan is on high my manufacturing business just got hit with orders
And last week I auditioned for a Dixieland Jazz band and got the gig.
So I have my work cut out for me I want to finish this amp darn it.

On start up I used tung-sol 12bz7 22mm plate large I have 5 sleeves
so if
I over voltaged so what, After my voltages were stable I switched to
v-1 7025 17mm v-2 ecc83 rft 15mm v-3 ecc83 rft 15mm.
I hate to say it the tung-sol 12bz7 sounded the best.
I love the clean sound, The overdrive preamp boost mid sound ok
don't like the rock mode to graniney, I broke down for a Tecktronix 2236
2 channel 100 mhz Oscillocope and a H-P funtion Generator 3212a
to pinpoint overdrive noise and bais the preamp tubes.
IM changing back to the first preamp board all 6ps nothing wrong with the
WIMA caps just no room for mods hard to work on.
thanks to all, Steve. :D
