I'm still in the hospital but I think they're gonna kick me out tomorrow.
It's been an eye opening experience and one that will force some life style changes.
I was told today it was a moderately severe heart attack so there is some damage to the heart.
I'm 53 years old, thin build (185 lbs.) 6'1'', but my cholesterol is high and that is what did me in.
They implanted two stints to cure the blockage.
Now I have to figure out what to do for work, probably see about job rehab or something.
Thanks, for well wishes and prayers.
Tom
Best wishes on a speedy recovery, my doc told me i was gonna DIE if i didn`t take the statin drug. ( i haven`t opted yet) My body produces ALOT of bad cholesterol. Once you get back in shape , lotsa olive oil, wine, and mediterranean food! And oh yeah TENNIS..
Just saw this. Add me to the well wisher mob. my doc advised me to go on low dose statins 5 years ago. still debating the advice. I have been excercising more, eating better and have never smoked. Still I often wonder if I should follow his advice. I am 58.
Hope you continue to improve and can make the changes to avoid a repeat.

Thanks, doing great.
Modern medicine is great!
I don't seem to have the stamina I had before but that may be just the drugs they have me on.
I really got lucky on this one guys.
Or put another way, I was blessed to finish what I started on this planet.
What ever that is, is still a mystery to me.

Tom,
Glad you're doing well. I'm glad to say I'm off all of the meds except the daily 81mg aspirin. I hated the way the statin made me feel, and I got clinical depression from the beta blocker. Dietary changes are the primary "medicine" now - carbs cut WAY down (which I would very much recommend to you) and I'm in the best shape of my life. (I had a 100% occlusion of the LAD artery in July 2007 - 2 stents in now.)
I would not be surprised at all if your stamina improved if you dropped the statin that I'm betting you're taking. (This is not "medical advice" and I am not a doctor - just an MI survivor who is a bit skeptical of a lot of the medicine that is prescribed in our country.)
Continue to heal! Listen to your body. (except when it craves the nicotine!)

Wife: How many amps do you need?
Me: Just one more...
