Well that's the thing about a pro clip like that.
You don't know what he did or what he really used on it.

It's not like, hey guys listen to this and start playing.

So I don't give clips like that a lot of credence, although it did sound nice.

Hm, you're right, I assumed that it was guitar straight into amp.
I asked, cos I'm considering building clone of Zendrive (or rather inspired by Zen - got some mods in my mind). Of course building D style amp would probably better, but due to few reasons (mostly time nad $$) it's not on my radar right now.

It's my clip.
Here is recording setup...
-Haar tele (suhr pickups) --> ceriatone "183" ---> EVM806 EVM 12L-->
sennheiser e609-->mbox mini -->protoolLE.
-No pedals, no dlator/kleinulator etc.
-Recording volume is about small club gig volume.
-Amp is stock ceriatone 183, plexi style OT, EL34, no mods.
-Tubes are all JJ's
