It's been working for me for 30 years with anything I use.
Having them all on at the same time or switching between them?
Sorry, I somehow lost track of this thread.

80s rig:
Clean: JC-120 head (4x12)
Dirt: 2 Marshall 50s, and a Randall RG head (12x12)
Burn: 2 Marshall 100s or 50s (8x12)

The JC is set for VIB and fed a second input from the line out on the Randall, which also has a channel blend function. (Clean/Lead) The dirt rig is a Rat pedal split with a Lexicon 41, and dry side to a Lexicon Super Prime Time and sub mixed through a Rane to the inputs of the Marshalls (warble) and the Randall (straight) The burn rig is a Rat driving one amp, and strapped across second amps input.

Tuner out feeds a pair of A/B/Y pedals. JC-120 and Dirt share a pedal, and one between it and the BURN rig.

Cabinets are all spilt up. Some have vertical pairs, and some have a pair, and 2 singles. The dirt rig is the vert quads up both ends, JC-120 has a pair near the middle too.

With everything basically wide open on the Marshalls, you can still hear the clean., and when you kick in the VIB, you can REALLY hear the clean... but that doesn't stop everything from being miced up, and coming off the floor through a pair of monitors.

I arrived at this rig. I added what worked as I went. There was a time before the Randalls when there was a variaced BF Deluxe on a load box in it's place.

With everything all up, and the Randall blended... wowsers. Imma rock star.

I have worked out tiny versions of the same rig with 2x 4x12s, and different amps. My current rig is 3 cabinets with dry up the middle, and effected outsides, with 3 amps.

Six cabs. Still all about the monitors.

I can't stand in-ear monitoring. It's like recording guitar from the control room. No connection.
