Looking for 2x12 cab
I am looking to buy a 2x12 cabinet. Obviously, I am looking for the best bang for the buck. I remember a thread recently discussing a guy making them. I remember I looked at the website and I liked what I saw as far as pricing and quality...but I can't remember any info about the maker. I think he is selling on Ebay. Anyone have any info?

Lopoline <http://www.lopoline.com/home.html> and Avatar cabs <http://www.avatarspeakers.com/> are both good. I bought an Avatar 2x12 with convertible back (closed or semi-open). Nice.

Or this guy:

Or Gabkits, though their supplier is mostly Brit style:

Weber cabs qualify as bang-for buck. I have a 1X15, looks
good sounds good, well built.

Or these guys, mostly known for tl806s, but others also:

Re: Looking for 2x12 cab
Consider a JBL Caberet 2x12 design. I just loaded up an old cab yesterday and I like it better than all my others. It's really amazing! I might never play through another cabinet style now. I loaded it with garbage too! Fantastic!

Re: Looking for 2x12 cab
I have an Avatar 2x12 w/oval back, nooo complaints! They ship Fedex real cheap too. 2-3 weeks delivery.
I also have two Boogafunk TL806, righteous in a closed back ported cab with EV12L or Fane Studio 12L. Some work to front mount those speakers but well worth the effort.

I have 2 sourmash cabs and no complaints. One is a 2x12 and the other a combo cab. There website has changed a bit so you may just want to call and talk.

Re: Looking for 2x12 cab
I know you are asking about a 2x12, but I wanted to at least comment on some of the companies mentioned here, even though my experience is with 1x12 cabs.
I've owned two different 1x12 cabs from Lopoline, and they both sounded pretty good, but a bit boxy due to their small size. One was the older style MDF cab that they made before taking the name Lopoline, and the other was the newer plywood version. I have since sold them both, and now own a Stage Craft 1x12 (the company sold on Gab Kits site). It is wider and taller than the Lopos were, and sounds un-f'ing believeable. It cost a few bucks, but is worth every penny and more. The one I have is the Black Jack Heirloom 112. I love it so much, I have considered getting another.
If I were in the market for a 2x12, I would stay away from Lopos as result of my prior experiences, and most likely buy another Stage Craft. Besides, Anthony is one of "us", and a very cool dude to wokr with.
I have only heard good things about Avatar, but I've never owned one.

Re: Looking for 2x12 cab
I just picked up an avatar 2x12 traditional, it was used but is in very good condition. So far I like it a lot. It came with an open (oval) back and a closed back which I think is still an option. Or at least you can get a small panel to close up the backs of the newer ones.
Lopo is a good "value" cab. I used to own a large 1x12 and it was fine. Not the best but they're not priced to be the best.
It all depends on your budget.....there are cabs out there that cost more than a lot of amps if you want to spend that much!

I really like 2 different 2X12's.............The Marshall 1966A and the Bag End.
I have EVM's in the Marshall and the original OEM Emmies in the Bag End. You can find these if you look around some.
Simply fabulous.

Re: Looking for 2x12 cab
check out roaneamps.com they have some cool cabinets that they will sell unloaded if you request it, or have it loaded with your favorite speaker
Re: Looking for 2x12 cab
best bang for the buck would be a used fender cab. late 60's early 70's a few hundred max. loaded with speakers. search your local craigslist.

Re: Looking for 2x12 cab
I just ordered a cab from the cab guy. I sent him the Dumble 2x12 drawings/dimensions from files section. The cab will be 3/4" pine sides and back with 3/4" baltic birch baffle. Black tolex and bandmaster type cloth. Price is $200 + $35 shipping.
Sounds like a great deal to me. I'll let you know when I get it. Thanks guys.

Re: Looking for 2x12 cab
How much chassis opening did you leave?
The Dumble cabs on Gabkit for Ceriatone are too wide for CE chassis but Anthony said no problem making narrower cabs.
