Serial #? Looks like a late '80s ODS, but I'm no expert. Nice rig nonetheless.

I wouldn't pay a nickel over $109,000
The add says 1991, signed and dated by HAD.

Eosteins rig came with a blonde cab, very possible that it's the same dumbleator and ODS though. Whoever bought it off eBay def stole it compared to this one.groovtubin wrote:Looks like Epsteins dumble, a guy got it from his estate sale?

Re: Dumble For sale
I had a chance to check out Gruhn's Dumble a week ago while there for Namm and his open house. It's displayed nicely on the second floor where all the big boys shop. The Main floor is nothing to sneeze at of course, but ALL the stuff upstairs makes my heart skip a beat every time.
The amp really does looks and sound awesome. Plugged in the 1960 Burst hanging to the right of a 51 Tele for a minute or two and there you have it. Wow.
Great amp, but $100k? The mid 60's Blues Breaker for $10K sounded quite good as well, and looked pretty darn clean, too.
At dinner George told me he had another Dumble the week before, but Clapton came by to visit the new shop and purchased it. George said it sounded better than the one he still has.
Side note: The next day Clapton dropped back by to purchase a prewar Martin 000-45 (I believe George said it was.)

Nice!
Must be great to be able to buy things without a concern about price.
I'm really glad that Clapton is using a Dumble now.
Maybe his tone will improve.

Just when everyone thought or was hoping that the prices on Dumble amps might collapse or go down somewhat Clapton comes along and gets one..
I think Gruhn knows this
Dumbles are still miles behind what a 59/60's Les Paul costs..Still plenty of room to climb

Re: Dumble For sale
In a basic way, I think Clapton is just like all if us and owns many amps, continually seeking great tone. He has earned his ability to buy it. But at that level (Musician or captain of industry), Price is not usually the most important part of the conversation. Same for guys who buy 59's and 60's, or any of the other fine instruments of great worth, rarity and sound that also reside in the shop. Surely he will play it, but it will still sound like Clapton. Not likely he'll change as a rule, my bet.
IMHO- there are several great sounding amps out there at a fraction of the price, but it sure would be fun to be able to go to a shop and buy stuff like that.
I'll settle for playing it for a few minutes until it is my turn.

I wonder if he'll play Politician on it!mandopicker wrote: Surely he will play it, but it will still sound like Clapton.

Re: Dumble For sale
Of course, duh!
That is mandatory whenever demoing a real Dumble or clone!
And not just Politician, but Robben Ford's version.

Funny thing is, this is the only live version of RF Politician I can find.

I personally would LOVE to hear some Cream being churned inside that Dumble
