Look in the Trainwreck Files section. There is a large file of photos of Francesca that will help greatly. Also, do a search for Express build threads by other builders such as Jeff12, RJguitars, and MFowler to name but a few.

I would like to get a go for soldering my board. Could someone take a look at my PS board? (Please take a minute around my biais Trimmer pot, I'm not sure, orientation, wiring?)

My layout is close to Francesca, more than build guide.. Is it ok like this?

Thanks,
JP

J,

Like we talked about, be sure to increase the height of that 1k 25W power resistor off the board so you can pass a wire under and still not touch the resistor. That resistor does get quite warm during operation Looks good man, keep it up.

That resistor can actually get quite hot to the touch, so I agree get it up off the board.

My next step is to install my potentiometer. How should I proceed? Wiring before or in place in my chassis?

Thanks

Have you read the build guide in the TrainWreck Files section?

I thought it had all these details but it's been a while since I've looked at it.

Yes but I want to know if I have to build a wood jig or it is easy on the chassis.

It's my Friday and I'm having a difficult time understanding what you are asking. Are you talking about wiring the pots that go on the front face?

If so, one "trick" is to put them upside-down from the front, wire them together, and then flip the whole string over and insert them from the inside.

Or, you can just bolt them in place, and go for it. This is a pretty easy build in that regard, so you might just do it whatever way seems most straightforward to you.

P.S. You may want to look at alternate builds regarding the buss bar. It's really tough to solder the buss bar to the back of the pots.

The build guide is not easy to follow and I'm not perfect in reading english. They say at beginning page 13 to install the pots. But at page 29 they are off the chassis.

What are your steps?

Thanks!
