I dig those beefy switches Charley...
Re: Deep switch question
This layout appears to have the deep switch oriented correctly. Note: layout corrected from original post - sorry for any misinformation

Re: Deep switch question
Jam-Mill, I don't think so on that layout. If those are toggle switches and the chassis is labeled Deep above the switch, it is upside down. Remember what M Fowler pointed out, with toggles, when the switch bat goes up the two bottom sets of terminals make contact. The deep switch it is ON when the 270k resistors make contact with the cap and resistor network and they are on the top set of terminals in your layout. Aaron, I believe that cap is labeled PS D47 but typically it should be .0047 or .005.

Re: Deep switch question
In the layout with the switch in the 'up' position, the center (common) and bottom terminals are connected together. This connects the two 270K resistors in to the rest of the 'deep' circuit. Seems like this engages the low-pass filter network (1M || .01u) -- 10K to ground. Is that not the case? Wouldn't that be adding the filter into the circuit? If not, then I am really confused.
Re: Deep switch question
That layout looks correct for a tubes down amp like the Dumble ODS.

@M Fowler - Thank-You for confirming!

Re: Deep switch question
Jam-mill, the 270k resistors are on the top terminals in your layout. The don't make contact with anything when the switch is toggled up.

Re: Deep switch question
I'm pretty sure that deep switch layout above is the opposite of how HAD wired them with toggle (not slide) switches. It's the opposite of the photos of unchanged early '80s amps I've seen anyway.

Jam-mill, now that looks correct.(reference corrected layout)

Re: Deep switch question
I just went through my photos and schematics, the wiring of this switch is all over the place between TAG layouts and Ceriatone layouts.
So if the toggle bat is up the 270k/270k resistors have to be on the bottom lugs to engage deep function?

These are from the #133 (Steve Watson) amp that was reportedly never updated or serviced after purchase.

Re: Deep switch question
M Fowler, that is correct. Also note that the 270k resistor that comes off of the deep switch and goes to the Jazz/Rock switch should go to the middle terminals(on the Jazz/Rock) switch not the bottom ones. Tony's Low Plate Classic Layout in incorrect in that regards. This only matters if you engage the deep and jazz function at the same time.

I attempted to start this topic earlier about this very issue : http://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=26685M Fowler wrote:I just went through my photos and schematics, the wiring of this switch is all over the place between TAG layouts and Ceriatone layouts.

Re: Deep switch question
When I built my amp I tried the Deep switch in place of the Mid Boost.
I thought the Deep switch was pretty subtle and not real good for me.
Then I tried the Mid Boost and I liked that much better plus it is easier to mod if necessary.
So I made my footswitch with Mid Boost, OD and PAB.
Also put a switched pot on the Presence so I can turn off NFB.
I wired the bright switch to Bright on Clean only, Bright on for both clean and OD, and Bright Off.
