I just worked on a Bassman 70 UL thing and it was exhibiting something similar. I isolated it to the PI and changed out all 4 of the fender blue drops and problem solved

I used the Mil Spec Switchcraft jacks on my ODS builds. They've all held up very well. I'd probably just use the Cliffs in the future though if drilling a bigger hole isn't an issue.

Do the military Switchcraft come in long thread versions for thick faceplate type of amps?
