Brown Note D'Lite 44 Schematic ??
Thanks to TGP I've got what is probably the very last Brown Note D'Lite 44 kit anybody is going to be building. Folks here know that a whole bunch of the Brown Note knowledge base AND document files vanished with their website so I turn to you all . . .
Seeking a D'Lite 44 schematic please and thank you. Seller sent the D'L 44 layout and I'm all set with D'Lite 22/33 schematics.

I don't have one, but if you could post the layout here, that would be great as well. Then maybe people could reverse engineer that to a schematic if one isn't found? It's also quite likely since it's based on the overdrive special, it's going to be very close to schematic's you'll find here.

Phil, I will work on that; it may take a couple of days because my D'L 44 layout is on an 11x17 page.pompeiisneaks wrote: ↑Fri Jul 26, 2019 5:12 pmI don't have one, but if you could post the layout here, that would be great as well. X, that is surely some help. I have a schematic for "Tweaked D'Lite" 1,1 and you're showing 1.2.
Reminder is well-taken; I have looked but can surely look harder.
I'm coming to the conclusion that a lot of the differences between the D'L 44 and the D'L 1.5 just deal with the power transformer upgrade.
Thanks all so far, and thanks in advance for any more.

The D-lite kit was brought on the market when there was not much info about the Overdrive Special. I think 124 was the only layout Brown Note had at the time. It was meant to do a stripped-down version of 124 with no fet and no PAB no choke and a pair of 6V's. It was a great platform at the time and the kits did well (for a while

Good Luck!

Thank you very much, Tony. That's all meaningful.talbany wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2019 1:56 amSo now it's really up to you as to what model ODS and it's appointments you want to turn your D-lite kit into. There are only a handful of parts between a Classic and a Skyliner. So my advice would be to do some research here and see which Model ODS appeals to you, pull the layout in the files section and collect the extra parts and build that amp. Of course, if you want to do the straight-ahead stock Lite amp have at it. Either way I am sure there are plenty of helpful builders here to help you out if you get stuck.
Good Luck!
I'm at that blissful beginning of the build, a long way from power-up and still able to dream about 'test, plug, test, play!'

Thanks again, and here's some more. We have:
> DL44 layout. This is the only one I've seen, and as noted I would love a corresponding schematic if anybody has or finds one.

> DL88 layout. Go big, go bold:

> DL22 layout, possibly corresponding with schematic 1.4 -- 2-button footswitch

> DL22 layout, possibly corresponding with schematic 1.4 -- passive loop, 2-button fs

> DL22 layout, probably ver 1.5, using the Granger 3-in-1 relay board

I hope that this is some help to somebody. On the one hand, these amps made some people pretty happy (eventually, from what I hear). On the other hand, it's tough to build when the knowledge-base has cratered.
Thanks in advance for your help, all.
Re: Brown Note D'Lite 44 Schematic ??
This is really the best advice, IMHO. Only reason to try to build a faithful Brown Note at this point is if you're some kind of weirdo collector/fetishist specializing in the products of failed start-ups or something along those lines.talbany wrote: ↑Sat Jul 27, 2019 1:56 am Fast forward 10 years and here we are with so much more info and many more layouts and pictures to go through. Re: Brown Note D'Lite 44 Schematic ??
How about a layout with voltages?
I built a DL44 10 yrs ago, still have the amp in a wide body combo. It sounds fantastic.
I have build pics, notes etc so let me know if I can help. If I see anything else interesting will post.

That's a generous offer. Thanks so much, and yeah, it's great to hear that the chase is worth the quarry!
Re: Brown Note D'Lite 44 Schematic ??
I'm building this one now from parts I had been compiling the only question I have is the DPDT switch with a blue and brown wire going nowhere?? Any clue where they connect to? I see the output wires brown and blue but how is this circuit selectable???

Re: Brown Note D'Lite 44 Schematic ??
I'm understanding that this amp can be switched and rebiased for EL34s as well?

Re: Brown Note D'Lite 44 Schematic ??
Just an educated guess... The OT has a dual impedance primary. The blue and brown wires are one impedance and the brown/white and blue/white wires are primary taps for the other impedance. The DPDT selects between the different OT primary impedances.

Thanks for the reply Sluckey. Since I am using used Iron and it only has a single impedance I just use it for my 6L6s the funny thing is I have owned many amps that could automatically accommodate either EL34s or 6L6s but, since it was probably designed to switch between 6V6s and 6L6s must be a bit of a mismatch impimpedence wise?
