Looking For Amp Transformers
Is there a place to find good but fairly inexpensive power and output transformers? I know Mercury comes highly recommended but I don't really have the budget for those.

Transformers are not cheap but everybody sells them cheaper than Mercury. AES is reasonable. Hawk Electronics has the best prices on Hammond transformers.newAmpBuilder wrote: ↑Tue Nov 07, 2023 7:02 pm Is there a place to find good but fairly inexpensive power and output transformers? Top of my list for Marshall , but you gotta be patient.
Pacific are great too . I honestly prefer them over every other larger scale manufacturer , but the stock options have “vintage” out of spec winds that are meant to accurately emulate the old transformers. I don’t necessarily want an Output transformer with an increased primary impedance at spec’s voltages, or an underrated power transformer, which is generally what they like to do.

Musical Power supplies is decent stuff, especially if you are on a budget. Mojo sells Heyboer made iron which is good.Masco wrote: ↑Fri Nov 10, 2023 2:54 pm Anyone have any experience with Musical Power Supplies iron?? https://www.musicalpowersupplies.com/products/

I do. You really can't beat it for price/value. If the offerings fit your needs, give it a try.Masco wrote: ↑Fri Nov 10, 2023 2:54 pm Anyone have any experience with Musical Power Supplies iron?? https://www.musicalpowersupplies.com/products/

I used Musical Power Supplies on my "Is Potato" amp. Seem to be solid, quality pieces.
Weber Speakers sells Chinese-made iron that isn't too bad. Their prices are getting a little high, though. Used to get a decent P-P 6V6 PT or OT for like $25-30, but those days are long gone.

Another vote for APD Heyboers. Amp Parts Direct prices them very nicely for an excellent product that performs like the originals they replace.
