Hey man, I will post updates as they come. I've worked on the head shell this week as I was still waiting for some parts from Mouser and Tube Town. Not a single solder joint done yet :?

As for my thread about the #002 build: I initially started this whole journey with the idea of building some sort of Steel String Singer. About half a year ago I stumbled upon this forum, found Erwin's thread and being the quick thinker that I am bought one of his chassis. Just a few weeks later I abandoned the whole project as I had to confess to myself that I'm just not really into the whole Mayer thing. Found out a couple weeks later that there are layouts for something #005-ish and being the Eric Johnson nut that I am, I just had to tackle that project. I am also building a Super Lead at the moment, so that fits my plans perfectly. :)

What did you do with the abandoned Erwin chassis please? If it is to be for sale I may be interested (also in EU).

I had these made through a local company here in Germany. It set me back a whopping 220€ and it isn't even painted haha! In hindsight I should've probably looked for someone that would be able to powdercoat and screenprint but taking into account that this is only for a single build that's okay for me. And it only took them about 2 weeks from submitting the order until it arrived at my doorstep! I will order some faceplates this weekend and I think it will look great nevertheless. I'd be happy to share the CAD files once I've made sure that everything fits properly. :)

I think,the #002 is the one real SSS,#005 is without CF Driver? i think,there was a Ceriatone #005 Variant,and in Germany,we call it "Sparbier" Version,cause it was chopped,or a mix from several Variants :?

Just as is with the different ODS amps out there, having different flavours but still maintaining sonic DNA that's also true for the SSS models. SSS002 maybe linked to Mayer because he owned the one, but it is a amazing clean amp with a huge potential for any pedalboard extension. The same can be said for the Sss004 and Sss005 or the Dumbleland.

Hi Erwin, nice to read you :D ,the Joke is,i don´t knew John Mayer before i knew the SSS Amplifier, and John Mayer isn´t in my ears a Guitar Hero you must known.Last Year,i Build the Dumble ODS with my own Single Tube Pentode Reverb, and that was the Best Amp I´ve ever build to me,sounds fantastic in Clean and OD.Than heard from a Buddy of me that there was another cool Dumble Amp,the SSS,my Buddy did build it,with your Chassis and PCB Set, its Amazing Sound flashes me again,so I decide to build the SSS#002 too.It was Especially the Topology with the Filter Section,CF Drivers and the Reverb, what attracted me to it.
You,Erwin,Ryan Colgan and Martin Manning did here a great Job with the hole work on this Amp,many thanks for that!
I´ve build it with a Blank Chassis and drilled by my self, and laser engraved Faceplates, only to safe money, otherwise,i would like your chassis more, cause it is more Original like.
Sorry for my bad english, and sorry for OT,thanks and with best wishes,
Micha

Glad to see you take the plunge! I still play my #005 build quite regularly and it's one of my favorites. It feels a lot like a Marshall amp in many respects. very punchy :D

Thanks for doing the work and posting the layout. I'm looking forward to how it turns out :)
