JLCPCB Heads Up
I thought it was a fake email but it turns out JLCPCB is closing my account on EasyEDA/JLCPCB due to "compliance policy requirements" and when I reached out, there was no disclosure what was out of compliance or what I can do to bring it into compliance. I'm not sure if this is as a result of US tariffs or what, but a warning to anyone using EasyEDA/JLCPCB to back up your projects often. I've spent literally thousands of US dollars on JLCPCB so I'm really confused by this.
I hope to simply create a new account and hope that they don't have some sort of address-check.
Maybe related: https://jlcpcb.com/help/article/notice- ... strictions

Re: JLCPCB Heads Up
It's unclear what this is about... Maybe something related to US-China trade policy? I have only dealt with PCBWay, and have not received any notices.
Re: JLCPCB Heads Up
I'll definitely be checking PCBWay out, especially if you endorse it!martin manning wrote: ↑Wed Dec 03, 2025 8:38 pm It's unclear what this is about... Maybe something related to US-China trade policy? I have only dealt with PCBWay, and have not received any notices.

I have not ordered from them this year, so IDK if you will run into problems, but give it a shot.

Re: JLCPCB Heads Up
Indeed, and PCB fab is considered to be a "strategic" industry .
Re: JLCPCB Heads Up
Yea --
My company moved all of our production above the level of components out of Asia more than a decade ago -- primarily to Guadalajara, Mexico, with some in India and other locations where it made sense, primarily as essential to sales contract terms.
Don't see two, or even four, layer 200sqcm PCB in any way strategic. However, somewhere on the continuum to finished ~$250k compute or telecomm assemblies it clearly is.

Oh great. This means we need to rule out "bugged" PCBs as a source of noise in our amplifiers and pedals? lolol!didit wrote: ↑Thu Dec 04, 2025 1:49 amThat's trade policy too ..martin manning wrote: ↑Wed Dec 03, 2025 9:42 pm Seems there might be more to this: https://www.eetimes.com/ex-dod-official ... s-systems/

Wow this is becoming like self replicating Agent Smith and the Sentinals in The Matrix!
This company was on my short list for when I was ready to order something and now I need to choose more carefully!
Cheers

Re: JLCPCB Heads Up
I don't know how much more expensive they are compared to overseas fabs, but i've been using OSH Park for over a decade and never had an issue. Made in USA and fairly quick if you stick to the standard board options. The dark boards tend to take an extra week or two.
Re: JLCPCB Heads Up
I am not sure if I'm doing something wrong but I did a simple quote with OSHPark by uploading my gerber file for a guitar pedal I made (2 layer, 87mm x 115mm, nothing crazy) and it came out to $77 for 3x boards! I'd love to stick with US-based if I can!maxkracht wrote: ↑Fri Dec 05, 2025 5:40 pm I don't know how much more expensive they are compared to overseas fabs, but i've been using OSH Park for over a decade and never had an issue. Can you give a general idea what you've been charged for boards? (round numbers is fine)

Re: JLCPCB Heads Up
I may be somewhat optimistic in offering this, but presume you’ll have straightforward order processing with an address north of 49th.
