New build Lnfb question
I’m about to start a new build based off the JM Two Rock. Have most of my BOM sorted out but wanted to see if there were any recommendations on brand/line for the higher value LNFB resistors 10m and 22m. For carbon film, mouser has 1/4w koa or stackpole. For metal film, they have koa, Yageo, Vishay MBB series, and Dale cmf 55. Wondering if anyone has insights or suggestions. My OCD is pushing me to Dale CMF 55 since I’ll have the RN65s on the plates.
Re: New build Lnfb question
I like the Vishay/Beyschlag MBE metal films. I have also used some NOS carbon comps that can be kinda cool, I think they are available from HiFi Collective.

Re: New build Lnfb question
When I tried the CC on the LNFB of my ODS, I didn't notice any difference in overall noise. What I found was a big difference in the texture of the sound. The clean side was warmer, with a nicer transition into breakup as volume came up or I leaned into the pick attack. The overdrive, on the other hand, got very harsh and fuzzy in a way I didn't care for. I personally prefer the metal films as I tend to lean into the high gain aspect of the amp and I find they help provide a much smoother, articulate overdrive sound. But if someone were more inclined towards an expressive clean sound the CC could be a nice option. Just my personal experience. I was genuinely surprised at the difference two resistors made to the overall sound and character of the amp.
Re: New build Lnfb question
I rebuilt a fender twin (pictures on another thread) and put in LNFB. I left most of the original carbon comps in the build, so I started out with ABs in the LNFB loop. Then i tried carbon comp when I found some at a local store. I couldn't hear a noticeable change in noise or tone and I was very surprised. So I was really curious what folks would put in a new build if they were ordering new resistors from Mouser or Digikey.
