The volume POT in my Rocket build has become inconsistent and will jump volume greatly in the middle of a song.
I don’t really want to spend $30 on a POT that I can’t clean easily for a replacement, so I’m wondering what everyone else is using instead of PEC POTs in your builds/repairs.
I’m guessing Alpha, but just curious.

Re: Replacement POT
Check to be sure that an alpha pot bushing is long enough to fit through the chassis and face plate.
My current build is using a trainwreck chassis with an aluminum faceplate and the alphas are not long enough.

Re: Replacement POT
Standard Alpha pots feature a short bushing (around 3/8" or 9.5mm), but their long-bushing versions measure 3/4-inch (19mm) long. Standard bushing works for me but I've never used a thick wooden faceplate.

Re: Replacement POT
Thanks. I'll double check before the thickness before ordering a replacement. My build is in an aluminum chassis with an aluminum faceplate.

Even though your pot is sealed, Deoxit D5 is good at penetrating. You can drip some on the shaft where it meets the body, and set the amp so the knobs point upward.
I build and repair tube amps. https://www.monkeymatic.com
