At least with the Obama plan there is accountability for what and where the money goes.

This is NOT a smart-alec comment. Please describe said accountability. I've heard that there supposedly is accountability, but I have never heard it described. And I refuse to take it on faith.

There's one simple answer... get pissed off. Liberal, conservative, whatever... watch these bozos like a hawk.

They count on a couple things... they count on us bein' too apathetic by two different mechanisms. One mechanism deals in the insiders, the deal they're gettin' might be crooked as all get-out but as long as someone else gets the shitty end of the stick they ain't gonna make waves. That would be our current Wall Street crowd. Then there's them that are gettin' the shitty end o' the stick, they're so busy tryin' to keep their heads above water they don't have time to consider the Big Picture. Even at that, if they were money ahead or there's a credit card balance available their idea of the"Big Picture" is a big-ass teevee set across from the sofa in th' ol' doublewide. As long as they got their teevee and they're makin' th' payments they ain't gonna ask questions, either.

'Sides... it's UN-a-frickin' American to ask searching questions of yer goverment. Subversive, it is. If they're busy answerin' our questions who is gonna protect us from the bomb throwin' bearded loonies?!

You're darned right it's un-american! I mean really, do you think George Washington founded this country so its citizens could stand up against the government in favor of God given morality or so thay they BY THEM SELVES would have the right to KEEP the fruits of their labor without having to give 40% of it away to those who aren't blessed with the ability to get and hold a job?

If the republican's in office were really conservative, we wouldn't have to hold them accountable because they wouldn't be giving away billions of dollars a year.

Times like this, I'd kill for a good old fashioned do-nothing conservative congress.

The author taught a class at my college and was researching the book while I was there. The book is mostly data from primary sources. FDR's policies set this country back two decades, and our kids are going to end up footing the bill in the form of a $40 trillion (2 million miles of 1 dollar bills) social security liability. Nothing scares me more than when Obama starts selling himself as another FDR.

And yet we are bringing in the new riche' from all lands to buy our bad real estate!

I choked when I heard the Chinese were coming here to buy the homes Americans can't afford. Ok. Call me supplanted!
