Original Tweed Deluxe are offered at $6k - $10k on Reverb. Fender hand wired Tweed Deluxe retails for $2700.

What, exactly, is the function of LNFB around a unity-gain stage anyway?tonedog100 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 21, 2026 12:55 am With that degree of distortion I thought I would heard the 2nd harmonic distortion created by the phase splitter's blocking distortion. The Tweedle Dee mod does provide negative feedback on the phase splitter, but since its unity gain, it doesn't reduce the blocking distorion signficantly. I'm speculating, but it almost seems like there's an increased series resistance to the grid of the phase splitter, but again I'm guessing.

Suggest these fresh trademark owners have used a blueprint for https://ampgarage.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=37151 to launch this product release.martin manning wrote: ↑Sun Sep 20, 2026 3:40 pm Well there's the answer to the speaker in the new TD, 25W greenback.

Re: New Dumbles available
Gain is less than unity, adding LNFB makes it more less than unity, and increases bandwidth as usual. Adding a large grid stopper might be a good idea to limit HF response and prevent undesirable distortion.

Is there any info regarding which Greenback model is being used G12H or G12M?

Hey Martin, I built one 10 years ago or so (I think it was a Triode Kit!) , I remember it being a great sounding amp, but basically just a tighter, more aggressive amp than it was the day before when it was a 5e3.martin manning wrote: ↑Sun Sep 20, 2026 10:18 pm That would certainly take it in the right direction. It’d be interesting to hear from someone who has built a Tweedle to the spec published here on TAG.
But I don't remember it sounding like a superlead like the one Joe is playing
Nonetheless, Kirk Fletcher has one, or at least was playing one a couple weeks ago. I'm going to guess the pedal on his amp is verb, he's not a gain pedal kinda guy. He works the guitar volume big time . But I could be wrong. All those blues guys stick a verb pedal on top of their amp if its a tweed. https://youtu.be/nZaLswPW1VY?si=dVrb7e_mFgELXMRT&t=96 about 1:30 in. That's just a cell phone at a live show so to me is a more realistic demo.
I happened to pick up a 5e3 build a local guy built, w/ Heyboers, 350V plates, jupiter caps, jensen alnico, and it's one of the best sounding 5E3s I've ever heard. Dead stock, and I have a 50's one in now I just finished.
I mean, it sounds great, but not as great as my $800 kit amp. The new Fenders do sound really good too, but $2700?? Damn.

12AX7 through and through.Mr. dB wrote: ↑Sun Sep 20, 2026 9:54 pmTweedle Dee plans here always show a 12AX7 first stage, maybe they've dialed that back to the 12AY7?martin manning wrote: ↑Sun Sep 20, 2026 3:06 pm Joe B says the original Tweedle Dee’s he had come into contact with were “a bit gainy” for his taste, so yea maybe. Could be some circuit mods and/or a different speaker. Then there’s the other two-thirds of the equation, the guitar and the player,,,
The website in now life. Interestingly it comes with a ground switch.

Stock MM 5e3 power transformers produce 400VDC+ , so that's likely what's going on here (looking at the website description) . They likely had some tweedle dee stickers printed up

Sounds about right based on reports by others.Smokebreak3 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 01, 2026 12:14 amHey Martin, I built one 10 years ago or so (I think it was a Triode Kit!) , I remember it being a great sounding amp, but basically just a tighter, more aggressive amp than it was the day before when it was a 5e3.martin manning wrote: ↑Sun Sep 20, 2026 10:18 pm That would certainly take it in the right direction. Nice sounds. Humbuckers again, like JB, so feeding it something different from what it was designed for.Smokebreak3 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 01, 2026 12:14 am Nonetheless, Kirk Fletcher has one, or at least was playing one a couple weeks ago. I'm convinced you can build a great sounding amp if you just get the voltages right and use good quality parts such as you mention. Not sure the $10 coupling caps are necessary tho. It'd be interesting to see what component types are in the new T-Dee'sSmokebreak3 wrote: ↑Thu Oct 01, 2026 12:14 am I happened to pick up a 5e3 build a local guy built, w/ Heyboers, 350V plates, jupiter caps, jensen alnico, and it's one of the best sounding 5E3s I've ever heard. Website has been updated with three amp models available. All are special order only. Contact them for pricing and availability. I heard on That Pedal Show the new ODS goes for $25,000. Consider me uninterested.

I guess they think they have the cachet to set the price that high. Really it's a steal compared to the $150k that dealers are asking for "real" ones, eh? I signed up for the email list. We'll se how that goes.
